thank you, anne, for the information...

on a related note, i have two glass (brass?) and one plastic tube feeders
available... i'd like to put them out, but haven't found a way to
efficiently clean them yet... i live in an upstairs apartment with a small
tub, small kitchen sink, and a dish washer that isn't tall enough to place
the tubes...

does anyone know where i can find tube cleaning brushes, especially for the
glass tubes? they have the metal crossbraces within, so the brushes would
need to be not only sturdy but VERY thin and/or flexible...

thanx!

Subject: [Tweeters] Bird Salmonella

This morning CH.5 news (Seattle) had a report from Camano Island, where I
live, that there was an outbreak of Salmonella among birds here. I have not
seen any dead birds but in the past week I have notice that there are now
only one or two birds at the feeders. I had been wondering if a disease was
the problem. It would seem that it is a definite possibility. The
following is one website that has information on the subject.
