The swans reported in Ellensburg are non-breeders. The "teen boppers" who
can affort to arrive late in on the northern tundra because they will spend
their days in larger flocks -- molting. These are the 1, 2 and 3 years
olds. I have seen then on the Yukon Delta NWR in flocks up to 800.
