Hi Tweets,

the song sparrows here have fledged, and mom and dad are still feeding the young birds. The fledged babies chirrr and cheap for food as the parents scramble with beaks full of crane fly to gather one more bugs for the hungry young. Also I was witness to the next set of eggs. Mom and dad during the bug hunt slipped in a little alone time, well not really alone, one of the offspring was begging while the parent copulated. So it is off to the next generation.

The Chestnut-backed Chickadees still have young in the bird house, though they have been getting hammered literally this week, first by a hairy woodpecker and then a sapsucker. The hollow tone of the bird house must sound wonderful to the macho woodpeckers as they hammer up a storm till I chased them off.
