Tweeters, Keith Brady and I checked on Weir Prairie (Thurston County) this
morning to see what was around. We were greeted at the entrance by a
healthy looking Coyote. Winds were fairly high for most of the morning, but
the expected rain never materialized. Birds of note included:

1 California Quail
2 Northern Bobwhite
2 Turkey Vultures
5 Band-tailed Pigeon
3 Western Wood-Pewee
5 Hammond's Flycatcher
1 Pac-slope Flycatcher
2 Cassin's Vireo
3 Purple Martin
about 10 House Wren (seemed to be at every stop, with 4 at the Doug Fir
"island")
3 pair of Western Bluebirds
3 O/C Warbler
4 Yellow-rumped Warbler "Audubon's" (1 carrying food)
6 MacGillivray's Warbler
3 Wilson's Warbler
Western Tanager
Chipping Sparrows
Savannah Sparrows
W/C Sparrows
1 Western Meadowlark
11 Red Crossbill
Evening Grosbeaks

Also have heard Crossbills and Cedar Waxwings in my neighborhood (NE Oly)
the past few days.
