Tweets,

My 21 y.o. WWU college girl just called me to report a White-Throated Sparrow just off her apartment "lanai" near the campus. After comparing the field marks via phone with our respective guide books, it appears that she has it right. I am more excited that she called to tell me than I am about her bird, as she is the one who makes such brutal fun of our birding life! She'll tease me with "Spaghetti and meatballs! Spaghetti and meatballs," in a sing-song tone every time I try to impart a birdcall pneumonic to her. But there's hope--while she was describing the sparrow, she said "Oh, there's that Wilson's Warbler again!" So maybe there's hope in my household for a second birding generation after all!
