Dear Tweeters,

My husband and I have occasionally heard "who cooks for you....who cooks for you all?' in our neighborhood at night so we figured there was a Barred Owl lurking. To our surprise, two Barred Owls barreled across our driveway on Wednesday evening, making a lot of excited sounds and coming about a foot over my husband's head as he was taking the garbage out. The pair landed in one of the tall fir trees next to our driveway and copulated, then headed over to a telephone pole, where they perched for a few minutes. They then flew around bit more, re-landed in one of our trees, and eventually took off into the dark.
