Subject: [Tweeters] I think I am being stalked by spirits

Today, a few days past my 49th birthday I was in my very first car accident.
There was a bird involved. I had come around the sharp steep corner not far
from my house when a Accipter flew down the road ahead of me. I slowed way
down to not hit the bird and also ahead of me, about 4 seconds later, a
teenager drove her car much too fast around the corner, lost control and
went skidding downhill into me. By the time she hit me, I was completely
stopped, since I had already slowed down because of the hawk. The damage to
the cars was moderate, and there was no damage to either of the drivers. As
I was waiting for the cops to arrive for the report, the hawk came lazily
sailing down the road, dipped its wings and made a low pass over me.

All my tension and stress went away, and I smiled, grateful to be unhurt and
aware of such wonderful things as birds. At times like this the scientist in
me goes on vacation.
