The featured birds are LAZULI BUNTING, CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD,
FRANKLIN'S GULL and WESTERN KINGBIRD.


Sightings for Thursday, May 19

A male LAZULI BUNTING, first reported on Tuesday, was again seen at
Colony Farm in Coquitlam. Also in the area were 6 VAUX'S SWIFTS
and a female AMERICAN KESTREL.


Wednesday, May 18

A female CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was seen in a yard at the 23800 block
of Lougheed Highway in Maple Ridge.


Tuesday, May 17

A LAZULI BUNTING, the first of the year, was seen at Colony Farm in
Coquitlam, north of the community gardens near the foot bridge that
crosses the Coquitlam River.


There were no reports for Monday, May 16


Sunday, May 15

An adult FRANKLIN'S GULL was at the foot of the south jetty at Iona
Island in Richmond, along with 2 WHIMBREL.

2 WESTERN KINGBIRDS and an AMERICAN KESTREL were on
the airport fence along Ferguson Road on Sea Island, Richmond,
and a BANK SWALLOW was at Iona Island.

The Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta had a WHITE-THROATED
SPARROW at the north end of the east dyke. Also at Reifel were
2 BARN OWLS and an AMERICAN BITTERN.


Sightings for Saturday, May 14:

A WESTERN KINGBIRD was seen along Ferguson Road on Sea Island,
Richmond, on a fence post.

There were 25 WHIMBREL and 1 MARBLED GODWIT at Blackie Spit in
Surrey.

There was a fallout of warblers in the Vancouver area, especially of
WILSON'S WARBLERS.


Friday, May 13:

60 RHINOCEROS AUKLETS were at Lighthouse Marine Park in Point
Roberts, Washington, along with 12 COMMON MURRES, 10 BRANT, 30
SANDERLINGS and 500 PACIFIC LOONS.


Thursday, May 12:

Migrants are still on the move with 3 BULLOCK'S ORIOLES and 3 WESTERN
TANAGERS along Grant Narrows in Pitt Meadows.


Wednesday, May 11:

A LARK SPARROW was seen at Colony Farm in Coquitlam, 800
metres from the entrance. After crossing the railway tracks on Colony
Farm Road, take the dyke on the left to where two sides of the dyke
are connected by some gates with green and dark brown handrails.

A PRAIRIE FALCON was seen at the Vancouver Airport on Sea Island,
on one of the towers on the south runway. 25 COMMON TERNS were
off the end of the Iona Island south jetty, and a SORA was at the Iona
marsh.

Point Roberts had 2 RHINOCEROS AUKLETS and a PARASITIC JAEGER.

A CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was reported from Queen Elizabeth Park in
Vancouver.
