Tweeters,

Yesterday I discovered a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers nesting in a large
cottonwood snag on the north side of the marsh. The cavity is visible from
SR 10, and is about 25 feet up. The snag is the obvious snag there, with
most of the bark gone from the tree, leaving gray and yellow wood in
contrast to the rest of the surroundings. I wouldn't normally post nest
locations, except that in this case I feel that the nest is well protected
by the marsh and is on private property, but with a good scope view from the
road.
