Yesterday afternoon I decided to check the progress of the pair of black-necked chickadees that built a nest in one of my nest boxes. The nest contained one broken egg, and was hopping with tiny insects (flies?). I'm going to clean out the box, but I was wondering if I should fumigate as well. I imagine that there could be insects eggs and pupae remaining in the wood crevices. Any ideas as to how to do this safely for the next avian occupants?

On a more positive note, the flickers in my flicker box are incubating 5 eggs.
