After yesterday's productive birding I retraced my steps this morn. It was
a blustery morning but there were still plenty of birds around. Of 40
species, the highlight was 5 flycatchers (4 Empids), the best of which was a
DUSKY FLYCATCHER in the same area that the Tennessee Warbler had been.
We've had more than our share of May Duskies in past years; this seems to be
the fifth in 10 springs here. The calling bird was in the understory of W.
Hemlocks at the edge of the alder thickets. In the same flock were a
Hammond's and a W. Wood-Pewee.
