Thanks for your great advise.
I caught a glimpse of a bird I have never seen before. It flew away quickly but I did manage to identify a sharp pointed bill and striking black and white stripes on the head. It was an all black and white bird, at least what I noticed. It flew too quickly to closely examine it. I did not notice any gray in particular but it could have had a gray back because it flew before I could examine it further. The striking black and white stripes and the pointed bill and the all black and white color were all I can positively identify.
Is there any thing else this bird could have been?
