The Westport Seabirds pelagic trip scheduled for May 21 was cancelled due to nasty weather and even nastier seas. However, a make-up trip is scheduled for this coming Saturday, May 28, and there's space on board. Species expected this time of year are black-footed albatross, fork-tailed storm-petrel, northern fulmar, Cassin's auklet, tufted puffin, sooty and pink-footed shearwaters, pomarine and parasitic jaegers and both species of phalaropes (in breeding plumage!).

The boat leaves the dock in Westport at 6 a.m., the cost is $100. To make reservations call 360-268-5222. Check out the Westport Seabirds web site at: www.westportseabirds.com.
