Well, more on the hummingbirds - I have to admit my bird id skills on
those little guys are pretty rusty! We've had at least two varieties
of female hummers - one is clearly a Rufus, but the other I am not so
sure. We tentatively went with Calliope, but today we saw a male and
he is quite different. It could only be either a Black Chinned or an
Anna's - he had a large black patch on his throat and a dark head. His
belly is white, but his sides are brownish/reddish, not green. I saw
him only very briefly from the front, the feeder is in our dining room
window.

How would I be sure which one he is? Any help? :)
