Breaker Lake, Pacific Co. - 5/24/2005

Finally a nice day for censusing.

Likely movements of BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS and SWAINSON'S
THRUSHES. I found and AMERICAN ROBIN nest and a nest cavity
likely being used by RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES. Lots of new
EUROPEAN STARLINGS...

The vegetation has really come up because of all the rain. The
BLACK BEARS have been re-arranging the trails again as well.
A female COYOTE was seen sauntering up the fairway of the second
hole on the Penisula Golf Course apparently using it as a quick
access to parts of the Briscoe Lake (just like me).

I also found what were probably RIVER OTTER tracks along a run
near the beaver dam.
