Hi ,
Birded from Ellensburg along Umtanum Rd then Wenas Rd to the Wenas
Campground.
Slow going since the whole area was full of birds, especially Flycatchers
and I left many unidentified,
though I did ID Olive-sided FC, Western Wood-Pewee, Pacific slope FC and
Gray FC.
also Western Kingbirds and 1 Eastern Kingbird. Loads of Western Bluebirds a
few Mountain Bluebirds,
2 Townsends Solitaires, 20+ Bullocks Orioles, 1 Red Crossbill, Western
Tanagers, Goldfinches, 1 Lazuli Bunting, Sage Thrasher,
Brewer Sparrows, Vesper Sparrows, Chipping sparrows, Calliope Hummingbirds,
1 Black-chinned Hummingbird, House Wrens,
About a dozen Lewis's Woodpeckers, Cassin's Finches, White-headed and Pygmy
Nuthatches, Mountain Chickadee.
Just a few warblers seen, all Yellow warblers. Also counted 13 Kestrels.
Searched the campground for a while but no luck on the White-headed
woodpeckers.
If anyone need a specific location on any of these I'd be happy to pass it
on.
