Hello everyone,
We will be planning a trip to Washington State this summer in July, and I
was interested in advice on best places to bird during that
month. I'll be trying to pick up the ABA Washington book also as a guide.
We may be all around the state, though we will be in the
Western portion for sure, as we are flying to Seattle and doing other
things there. We are taking the Westport pelagic trip as well.

Some target species: Varied Thrush, Lewis & Three-Toed/Black Backed
Woodpecker, Gray Jay (easy?), Barros Goldeneye, Rosy
Finches, Ptarmigans/Groupse, Grosbeaks/Crossbills, and any other
interesting local specialties. Is Boreal or Great Grey possible
in the summer? Any Ferruginous Hawks left?

Any advice would be great, as well as any ideas on any birding field trips
that might be going on in July.
Thanks in advance, and let us know if anyone wants birding tips for Western
New York or Southern Ontario

Good birding!
