Someone suggested this to me and I thought I'd pass it along. I am surrounded by neighbors who have several cats each. These cats loved spending time in my yard, enjoying the benefits of my bird feeders and birdbaths. Recently someone suggested that I try using PVC pipe along the top of my fence to keep them out. I installed it about a month ago and it's proving to be an effective barrier against even the most determined bird-loving cat. They climb the fence but can't pull themselves over it. It's an inexpensive, effective solution -- exactly what I needed. Whoever suggested this when we were in Russell Link's class at CUH earlier this year, thank you!

Here's what you do -- cut the pipe lengthwise so it rests on top of your fence like a roof or dome. Attach with a couple screws to secure it. It looks surprisingly good and can even contribute to an improved relationship with your neighbor -- now that their cats are no longer preying on your birds.
