Tweets - It's not too late to apply for the 2005-2006 Seattle Audubon Master
Birder program.

Dr. Dennis Paulson, Director Emeritus of the University of Puget Sound's
Slater Museum, is the principle instructor. He will be joined by a wide
range of other specialists.

The course runs September 14-November 16, 2005, continuing from February
6-May 1, 2006.

As a graduate of the last class, I can tell you that it is a great
opportunity to learn a whole lot about the birds of Washington state. The
course is designed for intermediate birders, and I know there are a lot of
you out there.

The course is free, except for needing to buy a few books (which you may
already own); you pay it back through volunteer hours for Seattle Audubon
(and *you* get to choose what you'll do for them; I've mostly led field
trips, but there are plenty of other options)

is Friday, June 17th, 2005.

As part of the application process, you will have to take a slide quiz.
Quizzes will be given six times: Wednesday, June 8, 7-8pm or 8-9pm;
Thursday, June 16, 7-8pm or 8-9pm; Saturday, June 18, 10-11am or
11am-12noon. Please email Rachel Lawson at RachelLawson at softhome.net or
call her (206-282-5593) to schedule a time to take the quiz. Quizzes will
be administered at the Seattle Audubon Society, 8050 35th Ave. NE, in
Seattle.

I've heard some people say that they don't think they're good enough
birders. While it is aimed at advanced intermediate birders, you don't have
to know everything already to take the course!

Don't be afraid to apply. You *can* be a Master Birder.
