I was at Ridgefield NWR on the 26th and again on the
28th and had over 60 species on each day. The trees
on the east side of the railroad tracks and in the
Kiwa Trail woodlands were fairly song filled. We had
W Tanagers, B-h Grosbeaks, Bullock's Orioles, some
Western Wood-Pewees, and a Warbling Vireo near the
tracks. The Red-headed Sapsucker nest in the snag SE
of the entrance bridge appeared empty and we did not
see or hear them on the 26th, but saw one fly over the
spot on the 28th.

The best birds on the Kiwa Trail were a Black Tern,
and lots of calling Soras and V Rails.
We had lots of House and Marsh, and a few Bewick's
Wrens, as well as Yellowthroats.
Yellow-headed Blackbirds were numerous and quite
vocal. We also had several Willow Flycatchers.

While Snipe and waterfowl population numbers were low,
we managed to find most of the expected species
including several Blue-winged Teal, though we missed
Green-winged Teal and Redhead (2 were reported by
others on the 24th).
