About 10AM at Greenlake today Barbara Haney and I saw
what looked like (to us) a Wilson's Phalarope. Has a
wide white (light gray?) crown continuing in stripe
down back of neck. We were walking clockwise around
the lake and saw the bird in the northeastern section
somewhat before we reached the docks and boat rental
outfit.
It more or less checks out in the books but perhaps
Someone-Who-Knows could confirm this or ID it
correctly. The guides say Wilson's is an inland
phalarope. We have made countless rotations around
Greenlake and have never seen this bird there before.
