I was at Medina Park yesterday evening viewing the Great Blue Heron colony. Medina Park is west of downtown Bellevue at NE 12 and 84th Ave. I counted 13 juveniles (full grown) in 3 nests in the cottonwood tree. In one of the hanging branches below the GBHE nests there was a Bullock's Oriole nest with the female sitting on the nest and the male just a few feet away. In a separate fir tree just south of the cottonwood there is another nest which had 2 juveniles. Four adult GBHEs were also perched in this tree.
