At Vancouver Lake today there were about 100 or so
Western Grebes with at least a couple of Clark's
Grebes in the group.

Among the 60 plus species Carol Ledford and I had at
Ridgefield NWR, were:
from the Kiwa Trail we saw three Black Terns. Also
seen there while calling, were both Western
Wood-Pewees and Willow Flycatchers. The refuge still
has plenty of Yellow-headed Blackbirds, but low
numbers of most waterfowl species. Baby Coots and
Pied-billed Grebes are beginning to show now. Lots of
Rail and Sora were heard, but none seen by us today.

At the railroad crossing East of the entrance bridge,
there were a couple of Red-breasted Sapsuckers, and
lots of Bullock's Orioles and Black-headed Grosbeaks.
