On 22 May, Nancy and Bill LaFramboise found a singing NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD
at Horn Rapids County Park north of Richland, Benton Co WA. On 25 May they
found a second bird and believe they are a breeding pair. From Richland,
take WA 240 toward Vernita. The park is located just past the Horn Rapids
Dam. Turn left toward Benton City to the park entrance. The bird has been in
the day-use area in the smaller group of trees (locust and cottonwood). No
need to play tapes and disturb the possible nesters-just be patient and they
will appear. WA Delorme 39, AB-5.

A MAGNOLIA WARBLER was seen 29 May near Dixie, Walla Walla Co WA by Ryan
Shaw and Charlie Wright. According to Charlie, the bird was roughly 7.9
miles south of Dixie, apparently up Biscuit Ridge Rd.

Randy Hill reports an EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE in Othello, Adams Co WA on 26
May. The bird was in the 500 block of 7th Ave near the LDS Church. Another
EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE was seen by Doug Schonewald, Steve Mlodinaw, Bob
Flores, and Randy Hill on 29 May in Washtucna, Adams Co WA. It was along
Main St near Bassett Park.

A PURPLE MARTIN was seen briefly on 28 May in Moses Lake, Grant Co WA along
WA 17 just north of Nelson Road according to Randy Hill.

Three CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS were on Silver Hill south of Spokane, Spokane Co
WA on 26 May according to Michael Woodruff. These birds are on private
property but contact Michael about viewing them.

On 29 May, Doug Schonewald, Randy Hill, Steve Mlodinow, and Bob Flores found
50 to 100 forging TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS along a 2 to 3 mile stretch of Texas
Lake Rd in Whitman Co WA. Along the coulee they found 100 to 120 breeding
pairs on private property. Look for birds along the road, respect the
private property. WA DeLorme 72, D-2.

Jane Westervelt reports a RED-SHOULDERED HAWK along the Moscow-Pullman Road
(WA 270) east of Pullman, Whitman Co WA. WA DeLorme 57, BC-8.

A male BROAD-TAILED HUMMINGBIRD was at Mike and MerryLynn Denny's home at
1354 SE Central Ave in College Place, Walla Walla Co WA on 25 May. Also in
Walla Walla Co, Steve Mlodinaw, Ryan Shaw, Charlie Wright, and Bob Flores
found a female ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD and a female BROAD-TAILED HUMMINGBIRD on
28 May. The birds were at the Lamb residence about 2 miles up Biscuit Ridge
Road off US 12 from Dixie. They have a hummingbird crossing sign along the
road.

In western Walla Walla Co WA, 4 to 5 WHITE-FACED IBIS were seen on 26 May by
Michael Bacon, 28 May by Steve Mlodinow and Bob Flores, and 29 May by Denny
Granstrand. The birds were on the Tyson water treatment pond (0.25 mi east
of beef processing plant on north side of road) and the Iowa-Dodd Beef Ponds
(0.5 miles east of plant). The plant is along Dodd-Iowa Beef Road, which is
at US 12 milepost 301.5 about 5.5 miles north of the jct of US 12 and US
730. To get to the beef ponds, follow Dodd-Iowa east about 0.5 miles past
the slaughter house, the road goes down a little hill and then back up. At
the top, turn right onto a gravel road that used to be a railroad grade.
Follow it to settling ponds. WA DeLorme 40, CD-1.

Boundary Co ID. On 29 May Lisa Hardy and Kris Buchler report 3 birds. On 30
May Mike Haldeman found 13 singing LEFL along the Deep Creek Trail in the
