Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday November 3. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

A WHITE-WINGED DOVE is now being seen at Cove in the Grande Ronde Valley. On
October 30 a BLUE JAY was seen at Waldo Lake and in Medford. One or two
HOODED ORIOLES visited Barbara Griffin?s feeders in North Bend on October
27. The orioles did not remain, but a COSTA?S HUMMINGBIRD is now coming to
the feeder.

Heavy loon and gull movements were reported during the week along the coast.
Large flocks of waterfowl are now arriving.

On October 30 three PALM WARBLERS, a SWAMP SPARROW, and 70 BLACK SCOTERS
were at Flores Lake north of Cape Blanco. On October 29 a BULLER?S
SHEARWATER and two PINK-FOOTED SHEARWATERS were off Cape Arago. A SNOWY
EGRET was at nearby Coos Bay. On October 29 a SNOW BUNTING was along the
nature trail behind the science center at Yaquina Bay. Two ROCK SANDPIPERS
were seen October 30 at Depoe Bay.

An adult WESTERN GULL is now at the Fernhill Wetlands and two are at the
Philomath Sewage Ponds. On November 2 a SNOW BUNTING was on top of Marys
Peak west of Philomath. A couple of PYGMY OWLS are conspicuous in the area.
Two REDHEADS are now on Stewart Pond in Corvallis. A BRANT was seen October
30 among the goose flocks in Eugene. On October 31 a WESTERN TANAGER was at
the Willow Creek Natural Area in SW Eugene.

On October 31 a PACIFIC LOON, 100 COMMON LOONS, 40 HORNED GREBES, 20 EARED
GREBES, three SURF SCOTERS, and four GREAT SCAUP were at Wickiup Reservoir
south of Bend. Seven COMMON LOONS were seen October 38 on Ochoco Reservoir.
On October 22 a flock of BUSHTITS were at a burn south of Baker City.
