Yesterday Barb and I made our obligatory trip to Spokane to purchase holiday
gifts for family and friends. Since we were not going to have time to
actually bird we decided to document the raptors we saw along the I-90
Corridor from Moses Lake to Spokane. It was a fun and enlightening trip.
Here are the results of that trip.

Northern Harrier - 3 all first year birds

Red-tailed Hawk - 16 of varying age classes with many first year birds. One
a 'Harlan's' seen in Lincoln County.

Rough-legged Hawk - 13 most kiting in the strong winds. All were light
morphs except one.

American Kestrel - 26 about evenly split between male and female, with males
predominate the further east we traveled.

GYRFALCON - One brown 1st year bird near 'W' NE (about 11 miles east of
Moses Lake and just inside the Adams County line).

It was an interesting exercise and one that we enjoyed very much.
