The Washington Ornithological Society would like to invite you to our
monthly meeting Monday night, Nov 7, at 7:00 at the Center for Urban
Horticulture in Seattle:

Tony Angell and John Marzluff will make a presentation on CORVIDS. Their
new book, which comes out this month is called "In the Company of Crows and
Ravens". The book reviews says it is "handsomely illustrated". And the
following review is by Nathan Emery. "Marzluff and Angell's wonderful book
is a user's guide to the biology and culture of these fascinating animals
and a testament to man's affinity with nature." The following review is by
Noble S Proctor, Ph.D., author of Manual of Ornithology and A Field Guide to
North Atlantic Wildlife: "This is the most detailed account I know of
concerning crows and the interaction with man. A very readable and
thought-provoking book!"

Dr. John Marzluff is a professor of wildlife science at the U of W and is an
avid birder with a love of corvids. He is a member of the USFWS Recovery
Team, and is contributor to the recovery of the Hawaiian Crow. He runs a
research program on the ecology and conservation of birds of prey, notably
the Goshawk.
Tony Angell is a freelance artist and writer who lives on Lopez Island.
Together the authors combine more than 60 years of scientific and artistic
fascination with crows and their bird relatives.

Note: Meetings are held the first Monday of each month (except July,
August, and September) at the Center for Urban Horticulture on the
