Subject: [Tweeters] yellow-shafted flicker intergrade in Olympia

Yesterday, a friend had a flicker with obvious yellow wings and a red malar behind the bill coming into her suet feeder in Olympia. It also had a red nape-crescent, as in a pure yellow-shafted flicker. We are both wondering if folks agree this could be an intergrade and if these are seen fairly often in the area?
