Tuesday November 08, 2005:
Seven TRUMPETER SWANS were seen flying east to west across the face of Mt. Benson in Nanaimo.
Two TRUMPETER SWANS were spotted flying over the Parksville Community Centre in Parksville.
One RED-TAILED HAWK was seen flying over Ware Road and Highway19 in Lantzville.

Sunday November 06: The Sunday bird walk went to the Little Qualicum River Estuary in Qualicum Beach. Seventeen birders found 56 species. Among the highlites were a SNOW BUNTING, two WESTERN MEADOWLARKS and a GREATER SCAUP.

HOODED MERGANSERS, BUFFLEHEADS, MALLARDS, AMERICAN WIGEONS, AMERICAN COOTS, WOOD DUCKS, PIED-BILLED GREBES, MARSH WREN, FOX, SONG, GOLDEN-CROWNED and HOUSE SPARROWS, along with CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEES, DARK-EYED JUNCOS, AMERICAN ROBINS, CANADA GEESE, TRUMPETER SWANS, ROCK PIGEONS, STELLER'S JAYS and RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS were seen at Buttertubs Marsh in Nanaimo.

A CATTLE EGRET was spotted at the south end of Somenos Marsh in Duncan.

Thursday November 03:
"RARE BIRD ALERT"
A BAR-TAILED GODWIT was seen in the fields behind the 100 block of Cooper Place in Parksville.
A GREAT HORNED OWL was spotted hunting in the fields behind the Parksville Libary in Parksville.
A WILSON'S WARBLER was seen at Buttertubs Marsh in Nanaimo.
A RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD was seen along the 2200 block of Ashlee Street in Nanaimo.
Tuesday October 25:
55 RING-NECKED DUCKS, 12 BUFFHEAD, 8 GREEN-WINGED TEAL, 8 NORTHERN SHOVELERS and a male, slate-coloured DARK-EYED JUNCO were sighted at the Morningstar Golf Course Ponds at French Creek.

Sunday October 23:
A pair of HERMIT THRUSH were seen scratching in the ground along Pintail Drive in Qualicum Beach.
