For the more technologically inclined, you may find Stuart Healy's 25 page
detailed description (including snapshots of devices and the steps to take
in the software) on how to use an MP3 player for bird recordings to be of
interest.

Back in February 2005, I posted an RFI to BIRDCHAT for MP3
player information. Since then I've made a purchase and
completed my MP3 project. The following PDF document
describes my experience in some detail. Hopefully, some
of you will find it useful.
