Tweets,
Somewhat despondent from looking and looking for Gene Kridler's IVORY
GULL, I decided to try for Dave Jackson & Bruce Moorhead's GLAUCOUS GULL and
Bruce Moorhead's SNOW BUNTINGS. No luck. A nice day with no rain or sun to
struggle with and saw some nice things like my first Barrow's Goldeneyes of
the fall and the first small flock of Common Golldeneyes (5) and an unusual
lingering Savannah Sparrow on Ediz Hook and some not so great things like 75
House Sparrows and a male Brown-headed Cowbird at the bird food out towards
the Pilot House (my first cowbird for the spit and the most House Sparrrows
I have ever seen there).
The two gulls may still be around and the same for the Buntings. The tip
of Ediz Hook out on the Coast Guard Air Statiion is the most favored spot
for Snow Buntings but it is very hard to get out there now. Oh well, as Gene
says, the birds keep me from chasing girls or cars.
