Hello Barry and others,

The city of Ocean Shores is accessed directly off of S.R.115 south of Ocean
City State Park,which in turn is accessed from S.R.109. S.R.109 is accessed
by traveling north and west bond from Hoquiam and passes Bowerman Basin and
the Hoquiam STP.

The directions to the Ocean Shores Sewage Treatment Plant are as follows for
those of you coming out of state or locally from the main town area of Ocean
Shores,which are also written in the latest "A Birder's Guide to Washington"
by Hal Opperman on page 58. Essentially you may travel south along Ocean
Shores Blvd. past town to the Ocean Shores(Point Brown)Jetty. The Ocean
Shores Sewage Treatment Plant is located just east of the main parking lot
at the jetty.,which is surrounded by a chain-link fence. The entrance gate
is accessed by traveling a short distance off of Ocean Shores Blvd. on a
side road then through the gate,which is open during the weekdays 8am-around
4:30pm. The gate is locked on the weekends and viewing during that time may
be made from outside the fenceline surrounding the complex with limited
views of the southwest pond. Tomorrow will be the last best day of viewing
the bird before the weekend if at all possible,if you have at all the chance
to come and try for the bird due to accessibility of the pond! The
Temminck's Stint has only been present on the southwest pond,which is just
west of the main office. There is a very small parking area within the
complex at the main office,but we recommend birders parking outside the
fenced gate and walking in,especially to avoid any
back-ups,disturbances,etc. We hope these general directions won't be too
confusing and you are all able to find the location,as well as see the
Temminck's Stint.
