Subject: [Tweeters] Temminck's Stint 11/10/05 + info re Friday (11/11) hours

Greetings All,

I viewed (& heard) the amazing bird today, 4 to 4:40 PM, from both inside
and outside the Ocean Shores STP fence. The very generous man working
there confirmed that he will be there 11/11/05, Fri, open usual hrs (approx
8 AM to approx 4:30 PM). Closed Sat & Sun.

I found the viewing conditions quite good from outside the fence, as long
as the bird was on the east side of the pond, while I was looking approx
east toward (& down into) the pond just beyond the fence. There are some
comfy rocks on the outside of the fence, to the west of the pond, which
(with a tiny bit of adaptation) provide footing for person & scope
tripod. When I was first looking at the bird, while I was inside the
fence, it was easy to see all of the water & edges of the pond; from
outside, due to the elevation difference, more moving around (by the
observer) would be required to see all angles of the pond & edges.

Many thanks to Patrick & Ruth, and also to Bob Morse for timely phone call
this morning (11/10)!

Good luck,
Alan Richards / Naselle WA 98638

Tweets,

I am wondering if the STP gates will be locked tomorrow )Fri) which is a
banking, postal, and school holiday for Veterans' Day. Does anyone know?
And for those who have been down there already, is a passable view of the
bird possible from the fence? Thanks.
