>From October 20 to 24, Sue Doss had a BAND-TAILED PIGEON at her Kennewick
yard.

Bob Woodley noted the return of 21 DUNLIN to the Yakima Delta on October 25.
He also noted 3 Horned Grebes, 2 Eared Grebes, a Western Grebe, over 100
Long-billed Dowitchers, both yellowlegs and 2 Common Goldeneye.

On November 2, there was a grand assortment of birds at the Yakima Delta
including a TUNDRA SWAN, an immature RED-NECKED GREBE, 5 EARED GREBES, a
SURF SCOTER, 8 BONAPARTE'S GULLS and a good variety of expected shorebirds.
Also present was a possible FRANKLIN'S GULL but distance kept it from being
positively identified.

Also on November 2, Bonnie and Ron Kulick reported an ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD
feeding at honeysuckle in their Richland yard. It was confirmed by others.

Heidi Newsome reported a MERLIN in West Richland in the vicinity of Rose and
Poppy Streets on November 5.

A good variety of birds remained at the Yakima Delta on November 6. Bob
Woodley found more than 60 Bonaparte's Gulls, Common Goldeneyes and Common
Mergansers. Of note were 2 PEREGRINE FALCONS.

Ray Johnson reported 170 TUNDRA SWAN as well as 8 TRUMPETER SWAN at the
Walla Walla Delta on November 4. Ray's experience with Trumpeters supports
this identification though he did not hear them. Swan ID is challenging and
Trumpeters are rare in the Lower Columbia Basin. Also present at the delta
were 25 SNOW GEESE.

On November 6, Ed Miller found a BLUE JAY in the vicinity of Harris and
Newcomer Streets in Richland. Please make sure to report any jays to the
alert.

On November 9, Bob Woodley found the following birds at the Yakima Delta: 1
Horned Grebe, 1 Eared Grebe, 1 Western Grebe, 1 Great Egret, 1 Killdeer, 1
Greater Yellowlegs, 8 LEAST SANDPIPERS, and 6 DUNLIN.
