Tweets,
Made a quick trip out to Ocean shores today to chase
the Stint with Tina Klein (leave Renton at 8:00, home
by 5:00! about 2.5 hours birding and the rest of the
time driving!).
We had great views of the Stint right in the SW sewage
pond, literally right at our feet! Very Nice views at
all the field marks! Lots of Pics taken!
Many thanks to Ruth and Patrick Sullivan for spotting
this little beauty, and sticking around to make sure
we all managed to see it. Last report I heard was
that at least 50 birders had shown up today to see the
Stint, and it looks like it might stick around awhile.
It seems to like the spot, and does not seem to be
bothered by all the crazy birders standing around
watching it in the rain ;)
We then went back to the Jetty, and Gene Hunn spotted
a juvenile Ruff out on the Jetty with the usual
Surfbirds and Black Turnstones. We also saw several
Rock Sandpipers, and at least one Ruddy Turnstone.

What the heck is a Ruff doing out on the Jetty????

Anyway, a nice but very quick trip out to Ocean
Shores, and well worth the trip! Good luck to the
visitors tomorrow! You should still be able to see
the Stint thru the fence, but the views will not be
nearly as nice ;)
