Subject: [Tweeters] Temminck's Stint and Ruff, Ocean Shores

Thanks for the reminder, Rolan.
I was there and saw Tina get swamped, and had not
really been thinking about how easily she could have
gotten in serious trouble.
Tweets, if you are out in the sand next to the Ocean
Shores Jetty, the current configuration of the sand
bars funnel in the incoming waves.
Yesterday, the waves would receed about 40-50 yards
for several minutes, then a LARGE wave would come
ripping in and up that small channel in the sand.
Tina was probably 30-40 yards from the water line when
she set up her scope. And the next thing she knew she
was thigh deep in moving water, feeling the sand wash
out from underneath her.
I second Rolan's concerns.
Stay safe out there folks!

Guy
