Hi Mary Ann,

I went to Discovery Park both Friday morning and this morning (Saturday the 12th) and saw single buntings each day. The little parking lot by the lighthouse is the starting spot, and just walk slow on the sidewalk closest to the beach. Yesterday, the one I saw flew up and away over the little bluff to the north side when a Peregrine Falcon flew over. That was the only sighting I had on Friday of the SNBU, but this morning was much better. I walked towards the lighthouse (very, very blustery and cold, around 7:45am) and saw one fly up from the grass and move ahead. I didn't relocate it, so went around the lighthouse itself for a bit so it and any others would hopefully settle. When I came back, I was watching the grass and the logs areas, and saw it! Such a beautiful little bird, not moving too far away, but quite shy as well - seemed to prefer being behind a grass stem to being in direct line-of-sight. Anyway, I got to watch the little guy for a few moments, lovely tan and w!
hite
creature. A very nice life bird for such a cold day!
