Subject: [Tweeters] American Pipit, Woodland Park, Seattle

Tweets - my son was running a cross-country race today (he ran really great
today, BTW) at Woodland Park, just east of the zoo in Seattle. There were
people, crows, and squirrels all over the place.

Out of nowhere, an American Pipit flew down and landed in the largest
exposed bit of lawn available. I hustled over to verify my ID. Less than 2
minutes later, someone with a dog came through that stretch of grass and the
pipit left.

Seemed to me an out-of-place sighting, and odd to find just one. I'd also
think such a sighting would be more likely in September or October...
