Subject: [Tweeters] Temminck's Stint continues at Ocean Shores

Hello all birders,

We received a message from Doug Schonewald of Moses Lake that 2 eastern Washington birders saw the Temminck's Stint this late afternoon at 4:15pm at the Oyhut Wildlife Area, which is the area behind the Ocean Shores Sewage Treatment Plant(accessed from a trail leading to the tall fluorescent navigation tower). We were excited to hear this news and wanted to update the sighting for everyone, especially those that may still plan to search for the bird. We encourage birders to search elsewhere besides looking at the southwest pond of the Ocean Shores Sewage Treatment Plant. The longer the bird stays the more area it will explore, which is typical for most birds. Anyhow, please continue to check both listed locations,as the bird could show up almost anywhere. The area behind the navigation tower is especially good for shorebirds primarily in between tides when they use the area and it is the area the Ruff was observed flying from before it was seen yesterday.

Sincerely,

Ruth and Patrick Sullivan
