Speaking as compiler of the Columbia Estuary Count, I do not
intend to change the boundaries of the specific areas, except
to accommadate greater or fewer participant (as I have always
done). But of the 9 (sometimes 12) areas on the Columbia
Estuary Count at least 4 of them would probably be done MORE
efficiently by bicycle.

Of course that means that more Fox Sparrows will get counted and
skew the trend data....

Then again, replacing the late Venerated-old-birder A who was
deaf as a post and always covered Song Sparrow Park with Hotshot
Up-and-comer B who can identify Fox Sparrow subspecies by call
would have the same effect.

I'm sure there's a multi-regression tool to handle the changes.
