November 3, 2005, Thursday, 4:56 p.m. Hi, this is Carl Haney and in
Poulsbo today, this afternoon, there was one SCRUB JAY one block east of
the City Hall building. The City Hall is in downtown Poulsbo. I am not
aware of too many SCRUB JAY reports in Kitsap County, but that's what I
saw. Good birding.

November 9, 2005, Wednesday, 10:11 p.m. Hello, this is Patrick
Sullivan, along with Ruth Sullivan. A TEMMINCK'S STINT was observed and
photographed today at the Ocean Shores sewage treatment plant between
3:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. at the southwest corner pond. The office hours
of the sewage treatment plant facilities are between 8:00 a.m. and
around 4:30 p.m. Thank you. Good luck and good birding.

November 10, 2005, Thursday, 10:07 a.m. This is Bob Morris calling from
the Ocean Shores sewage treatment plant. It's around 9 o'clock on
Thursday morning. The TEMMINCK'S STINT is still here this morning and
has been seen by Keith Brady and the Sullivans, and myself, and it flies
off occasionally and comes back. So, it's very windy. It's beginning
to rain, and I would suggest that people who want to see this bird go to
the sewage treatment office, which is open from 8:00 to 4:30, and stand
under the eaves to the office for protection against the wind and rain,
and the bird will appear in the settling or sewer pond just outside the
office windows.

November 11, 2005, Friday, 10:03 p.m. This is Rachel Lawson, BirdBox
system administrator, with a quick update on the TEMMINCK'S STINT at the
Ocean Shores sewage treatment plant. The bird was present all day
today, Friday, November 11. If you go to find this bird over the
weekend, the gates to the sewage plant will be closed, but the pond and
the bird should be visible from outside the fence. That's it. Good
luck.

November 12, 2005, Saturday, 10:05 p.m. This is Rachel Lawson, BirdBox
system administrator, with another update on the TEMMINCK'S STINT at the
Ocean Shores sewage treatment plant. The bird was present today,
Saturday, November 12. That's it. Good luck.

November 13, 2005, Sunday, 12:13 p.m. Hi, this is Bill and Nancy
LaFramboise reporting from Ocean Shores on Sunday. The TEMMINCK'S STINT
is still at the sewage treatment plant, though the RUFF was not seen
today. It was seen yesterday. And that's the good news.

November 15, 2005, Tuesday, 7:43 a.m. This is Rachel Lawson, BirdBox
system administrator, with an update on the TEMMINCK'S STINT at Ocean
Shores sewage treatment plant. The bird was still present yesterday,
Monday, November 14. That's it.

November 15, 2005, Tuesday, 8:30 p.m. This is Rachel Lawson, BirdBox
system administrator, with an update on the TEMMINCK'S STINT in Ocean
Shores, and a report from Whidbey Island today. The TEMMINCK'S STINT
was seen today in Ocean Shores, but not at the sewage treatment plant.
It was relocated about 4:15 in the afternoon in the Oyhut Wildlife Area,
which is behind the Ocean Shores sewage treatment plant, and can be
reached by a trail leading to the tall, fluorescent navigation tower.
Then today, Penny Kayama, Steve Dang, and I birded on Whidbey Island.
The most notable birds we found were at Freeland Park in Freeland at the
end of Holmes Harbor. In the plantings to the right of the restrooms,
we found one CLAY-COLORED SPARROW in a small flock of GOLDEN-CROWNED and
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS. And then, bizarrely, we saw two adult BALD
EAGLES chasing one SHORT-TAILED SHEARWATER out over the water. They
flew back and forth several times with the EAGLES only a few feet behind
the SHEARWATER until they went out of view behind the buildings. We
couldn't relocate the SHEARWATER after that. Pretty weird. Anyway,
good luck and good birding. Bye.

November 16, 2005, Wednesday, 8:20 p.m. Hi, this is Tom Aversa
reporting a GYR FALCON, a juvenile, up at the Fir Island today right
near Dry Slough or on the Skagit--on the right of the main road.
Thanks.

November 17, 2005, Thursday, 8:29 a.m. This is Rachel Lawson, BirdBox
system administrator, with a report from November 14. Twyla Hopkins
reports that she saw a SNOWY OWL at the south end of Jetty Island in
Everett Harbor. There was also a PEREGRINE across the channel. Her
phone number is (206) 784-4981.
