Today, I made a brief drive along Wenzel Slough Rd. with the hopes of finding some swans. I found 24 Trumpeter Swans in a grassy field near the hunter registration kiosk at Bill Goeres' Farm (along the west end of Wenzel Slough Rd.) at about 2pm. Also, here in a different field was a large group of Canada/Cackling Geese. Judging from the size I'm going to guess most of them were cacklers. I did note one had a red neck collar, but I didn't have my scope to get the code off of it. Raptors seen included a very nice male Northern Harrier, American Kestrel, and Red-tailed Hawk.

Good birding,
