This week I received information about a couple of out of place
corvids in Southwest Washington.
The first was a BLUE JAY reported by Deanne Neth from the
Leverich Park area of Vancouver. This bird was seen on November 5th
coming to a feeder near NE 45th St. and Leverich Parkway.
Sandra and Andrew Becker called me to saying that they had seen a
BLACK-BILLED MAGPIE in the Woodland Bottoms. This bird was on the
Columbia River beach about a half mile downstream of the mouth of the
Lewis River. I believe that this is a "county first" sighting for Cowlitz
County.
