Hello all birders,

We personally wanted to thank EVERYONE who wrote us privately for finding the Temminck's Stint and giving us such great recognition,as well as those of you that we spoke with or saw in the field while seeing this great bird! It was at times very overwhelming, but we do highly appreciate all your gracious condolences for our bird sightings, which we do as a passion! It was truly our rarest bird and we enjoyed every minute of it buy helping other birders see it,as well as post our daily updates! Essentially, everyone that came to see the bird saw it up including the last day on Monday the November 14th when the bird stayed all day! We did our best to help everyone that we could! The bird has now gone, but the excitement still remains and all your praises have not been forgotten. We even received the most kind and thoughtful specialized card from Mike and MerryLynn that they made using photos of the bird, which we just received today and it really warmed our hearts! It was also neat to see the photo they also used on the back of the card of a birder laying on the ground trying to get the best shot! That is dedication! We never knew that birders could be so appreciative and we thank everyone over and over! It is always nice and exciting to find a rare bird, but we just enjoy plain birding and whatever we find so worthwhile to us and usually never a dull moment. As many of you know we are pretty deep into documenting most of our rare sightings with photos, which adds to the enjoyment of birding! We encourage many of you to do the same within limitations and we do know photo equipment is not especially cheap, but in the long run it can pay for itself! Of course not all photos will be the best of quality, but hey can be something to present for some type of documentation of your sightings.

We received so many replies from so many of you that we cannot possibly thank all of you and we enjoyed all the efforts you all made for us. We met so many nice birders in the field while watching the stint and many of you we didn't get to met since we kept so busy watching he bird and trying to make sure everyone did get to see the bird. We tried our best and our efforts were enjoyed by many of you! Again,a BIG THANK YOU to you all that acknowledged us and may many more rare birds be found!

Sincerely,

Ruth and Patrick Sullivan
