About 11 am today there was a large flock of Brewer's Blackbirds with a few
Red-winged Blackbirds intermingled with them at the foot of McCarver Street
on the Tacoma Waterfront. I would estimate that the total number of birds
was between 100 to 150 or even more, most of which were the Brewer's, though
I did see three or four Red-winged Blackbirds with them. I have seen an
occasional Brewer's on Ruston Way but never a flock this large. There were
many in a tree along the sidewalk and the majority were settling in on the
ground and the rocks right on the water.
