Greetings All,

I saw a large greenish dragonfly, hovering briefly and flying over our
house in Naselle, Pacifc co., on Nov 9. Then, on Nov 17, hovering over the
parking lot of the headquarters of Willapa NWR, another long thick-bodied
greenish dragonfly with clear wings (no spots) (to the naked eye, without
binos) hovered near & above me (about 20 feet up) for about 15 seconds. I
do not know exactly what species, but believe it was one of the
darners. Not as late as the ones reported below, but pretty amazing!

Hello, all.

Just to add to the thread of "late critters" this week, Netta Smith and
I saw two Variegated Meadowhawks (Sympetrum corruptum) at Midway Beach
on this warm, sunny afternoon (11/21/05). This is the latest date any
live adult odonate has been seen in the state to my knowledge, although
I have a Common Green Darner (Anax junius) specimen that was found
fresh dead in early December. [ . . .]
