Hi Tweets -
A very cold & rainy day out on the coast today - But a lot of fun,
despite the lack of any real shocking finds:
Pacific County:
Tokeland: Tokeland Marina
Marbled Godwits - I swear that flock gets more massive every time I visit!
Bar-tailed Godwit - one in the MAGO flock
Whimbrel - 2 up on the grass
Willet - 20 or so among the MAGO
Long-billed Dowitcher - 10-20 among the MAGO
I looked in vain for a Palm Warbler, but did turn up a nice pair of
Townsends Warblers

Tokeland, Graveyard Spit:
Long-billed Curlew -20+
Black-bellied Plover - <10
American Kestrel - 2
Dunlin - one big flock
Sanderling - a few scattered about

Midway Beach:
Snowy Plover - 10-20, feeding in the surf well north of the road. One
was banded - if anyone knows who I should report that to, please pass
along the tip.
Peregrine Falcon - 1 or 2
Western Meadowlard - 3
Western Sandpipers - 3
Least Sandpipers - 2
Sanderling
Ring-necked Pheasant - 1 female
Bald Eagle - 1
Wilson's Snipe - several, back in the marshy area

Grays Harbor County
Bottle Beach:
tide was out and the rain was coming down hard, so not much turned up.
Mostly, 30+ BB Plovers

Too soggy to continue, I drove towards home as the weather improved.
A final couple brief stops, at Luhr Beach and Nisqually rounded out the day:
Snowy Owl - 3 still present - 2 'close' in , 1 distant -- all needing
a scope to see. Yay!

and at Nisqually, the Eared Grebe was present as previously reported,
very close in along the trail towards McAllister Creek, about 100
yds from the parking lot, on the left side of the trail.

A good day,
