Gary and Tweeters,

On November 17, I saw 4 ANCIENT MURRELETS at Lighthouse
Marine Park in Point Roberts, Whatcom Co.-- as duly reported on
the last couple of Vancouver RBA messages. However, this is the only
local (Vancouver area) sighting I have heard of this fall. None were at
Point Roberts when I checked there again on Nov. 24 under ideal
weather conditions (no wind).

I do not recall hearing of any other sightings this fall in the Puget
Sound area.

It looks like this is a "down" year for Ancient Murrelets in inshore waters.
Most years, there have been quite a few sightings by this time of
year.

Subject: [Tweeters] Ancient Murrelet Question

Dear Tweeters,

Howard Armstrong and I tried again today at Rosario
Head for Ancient Murrelets, with no luck. I have now
tried to find these birds maybe ten times this autumn,
with no success. Has anyone out in Tweeterland had any
luck with these birds this fall in the Puget Sound area?

Yours truly,
