Hello All,

Today, 11/26/05, Rick Powers and I saw two adult WT Kites at the Deer
Refuge near Skamokawa, Wahkiakum co., WA. This is the first I have seen
this species in nearly a year at this NWR, even tho they are somewhat
regularly reported there. We saw both of these birds flying about, then
hovering, then perching close to each other in the tops of two different
conifers, between Brooks Slough Rd and St Route 4, at the north edge the
NWR, between 2 and 3 PM today.

Also, a W. Scrub-Jay on Loop Rd., Gray's River. This species still quite
uncommon in Wahkiakum county away from the usual Puget Island / Cathlamet
stronghold.

Hi Everyone, We spent the weekend on the outer coast [ . . . .]

On the 20th also, we focused on finding White-tailed Kite, both at Chinook
and Julia Butler NWR, but turned up none. Anyone else had any luck with this
species in the past few weeks in southwestern Washington?
