Hi Tweets -
This morning there was a Snowy Owl calmly sitting amongst a crow
crowd at Discovery Park. I watched it from about 8:30 - 9:00 before
heading back home.
Directions:
Park at the South Parking lot.
The Snowy Owl was on the rooftop of the middle-most of the row of
yellow houses that sits between the old white church and the big
tower w/ the spherical water container on top. The owl was on the
back side of these houses, not at the top. If they are still on post,
the crows will lead you right to the owl.
Note that these are occupied houses, and the immediate streets right
around the yards are private - it is possible to view the Snowy Owl
without crossing these boundaries - just steer wide and you'll find
paths and trails that offer views.
The quickest way to get to this spot is to walk north from the
parking lot to the set of stairs that leads up toward the meadow.
From there it is a quick walk to the north to get to the houses.
Hopefully it will stick around in the area -- I took it as a late
Thanksgiving present that this visitor didn't make me hike all the
way down to the beach to find it!
Best,
